2020 marks the 50th anniversary of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Kawartha Lakes. Since 1970 we have been providing a safe, supportive place for children and youth to experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life. From humble beginnings under the vision of Ron Kennedy the Club has grown into a diverse organization helping over 8,000 children, youth and families at 11 sites in the Kawartha Lakes. Hundreds of kids benefit daily from the Club’s programs and services.
Our Anniversary year will offer an opportunity to honour the past, amplify knowledge about the present and build towards the future.
We will mark this milestone by:
Connecting with alumni – whether they be former club members, staff or volunteers;
Unveiling historical presentations about the Club and its impact;
Launching our Kawartha Lakes Youth Awards to build awareness and generate support for our youth programs;
Inviting donors to join our 50 for 50 campaign which will allow us to invest in the future;
Creating more lasting memories with our community.
Given the uncertain times with COVID-19 we are postponing our 50th Anniversary Party to 2021.
We look forward to a fitting celebration. Details to come.
